IELTS Academic Required for students who are planning to study at a University or an Institution of Higher Education in Australia.
IELTS General PracticeThis is required for people who are going to an English-speaking country to work or train at below undergraduate level. It is also used for immigration purposes to Australia, Canada, the UK and New Zealand. In addition, the Australian government also requires a satisfactory IELTS score in order to grant a Permanent Resident (PR) Visa.

Schedule
The course is run over a period of 4 weeks in both Canberra and Sydney – and for 5 weeks in Liverpool. As well as the 16 hours of classtime, students will also be provided with 2 one hour personalised sessions with the teacher. The first personalised session will occur in Week 2 and the second session occurs in Week 4. These personalised one-on-one sessions are for individual instruction and feedback to the student.
Students are also required to undertake a minimum 6 hours of private study during the 4 week period. This private study includes homework and exam practice questions.
When are the classes scheduled?
The course times depend on where you attend the course. The courses that are run in Canberra occur on Monday and Thursday evenings for one session and Tuesday and Friday evenings for another session. The courses that operate in Sydney CBD are on Saturdays and Sundays and the courses that we run in Liverpool are on Friday evenings. The timing of the courses are designed so that students can enrol in the course that suits their schedule and lifestyle.

Where are your IELTS classes held?
Our Canberra courses are held at our Canberra education centre which is conveniently located in the Canberra CBD. There is ample parking and we are close to public transport facilities. We are also within easy walking distance to the Australian National University and only one bus ride from the University of Canberra.
The Sydney CBD courses are held at Broadway which is conveniently located to Central Station and to Chinatown.
Our Liverpool courses are taught at our Western Suburbs Education Centre which is conveniently located only 5 minutes from the Liverpool train station and only 2 minutes from Westfield Shopping Centre.
What is the student:teacher ratio?
Pine View College aims to keep student:teacher ratios low. We do this so that all students in our classes have the opportunity to interact in a small and comfortable environment. Our classes have a minimum of 8 students but we never exceed a ratio of 15:1 – that is, we never have classes of more than 15 students.In addition, each of our classes also has a teacher’s assistant in the actual class to answer any individual questions or to offer any assistance to students. This means, that besides the actual qualified teacher who is presenting the classes, you will have further support from a teaching assistant during the classes.
How much does your IELTS Preparation course cost?
In Canberra, both the IELTS Academic and IELTS General Practice courses are $429 AU each. In Sydney and Liverpool, the price for both courses is $459 AU each. This includes 16 hours of class time, 2 hours of personalised one-on-one tutoring and 6 hours of structured independent study. Plus, the tuition fees also includes all the course and course-ware material, a comprehensive course companion website and practice exams.
Can I do the IELTS Exam at your Centre?
No – the courses we offer prepare you to sit the IELTS Exam. We are not an IELTS Testing Centre. We can assist you in booking an exam at a certified IELTS Testing Centre though and we do recommend that you sit the exam within 2-3 months of completing our preparation courses.
Who should enrol in your IELTS Preparation Courses?
Our IELTS Preparation Courses are for candidates who plan to undertake either the IELTS Academic Exam or IELTS General Training exam in the near future. Students are expected to have an Intermediate to Upper Intermediate level of English in order to enrol in our IELTS Preparation Course.
How do I enrol in the IELTS Preparation Courses?
The enrolment process is a simple process and will take about 10 minutes. Choose a date and course from the links below. Then click on the Enrol in this Course button. You are then taken to a page to confirm your enrolment request. Finally, you will be taken to our secured online payment system for payment. The details you enter in our student account system are secured and we only use those details for the purpose of this website. We do not on-sell or trade your information with any other party. Upon enrolment, you will then receive a confirmational email which will confirm your enrolment as well as providing you with an information pack, course material and details about your course.

* Students should note that the IELTS Preparation Courses offered by Pine View College are not courses for the learning of English. They are for students who already have an understanding of the English language but need assistance and tuition to help them sit the IELTS exam(s). While instructors may be able to make students aware of areas of weakness in their use of English, the IELTS Preparation course will focus on skills and strategies required to sit the IELTS exam(s) and is intended to assist the students to gain the best scores they can.

- Canberra Courses that occur on Tuesdays and Fridays start at 5:30pm and finish at 8:00pm on Tuesday, and start at 2pm and finish at 5:00pm on Friday.
- Sydney Courses that occur on Saturdays commence at 1:00pm and finish at 5:30pm
- Sydney Courses that occur on Sundays commence at 9:30am and finish at 2:00pm.
